Taking Care of the Kids In Kenya Prisons

Dear Family, Friends, Partners, Prayer Team, and Pastors: Blessings

Over the last year, we at Prison Christian Ministries have been working hard to fulfill some of the assignments that Jesus has called us to do: Feed the Hungry, give drink to those who are thirsty, clothe the naked, care for the sick, visit those in prison. Last year at this time, we were planning a mission trip to visit the prisons in Kakamega, Kenya and were not sure how we would raise the funds needed for that trip. God provided and the trip was a huge success. While on that trip, we witnessed over 2500 prisoners pray for Jesus to save their souls. It was wonderful to see the Holy Spirit at work.

On that same trip, we discovered that these same prisons had children in them, of no fault of their own. When a lady goes to prison, all her children under four go with her; there is no safety net in Kenya for children. The prisons do not have a budget to help feed and clothe these kids, so they eat off their mother’s plate.

How were we going to help these children? The task looked impossible to four common men from Fredericton N B Canada, but God.

Philippians 4:13
I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.

Here we are only nine months later. We are now an incorporated Ministry, with Charitable status allowing us to give out tax receipts. We have an Agency Agreement, approved by Revenue Canada, that allows us to send funds to Kenya. We also have an agent who can carry out the Prison Ministry work that is so badly needed. Along with the help of Joseph Kinuthia, our agent, we are going to give these lost and lonely children and their mothers a Christmas they will remember. Below I have attached a budget and a list of supplies that will be needed to complete this mission. Along with the children in the prisons we are also going provide a Christmas dinner for up to 100 street kids who have nowhere to live except on the streets of Kakamega. If God has put it on your heart to help, please go to our web site and make a donation. It will go directly and totally to this mission in Kenya.

Be Blessed in Jesus and know you are loved.

P. S. What will your children get this Christmas?

Below you will find a letter telling how four everyday men from Fredericton Brent Bishop, Mike Cody, Bill McLaughlin and Miles Blair went into the prison’s of Kenya. Discovered little children in these prison’s with little food and clothing and nine months later are providing them a Christmas they will not forget, through a ministry they started called Prison Christian Ministries.
