PCM MISSION STATEMENT

The Mission of Prison Christian Ministries is to Glorify God and serve the men, women and children, who are affected by incarceration and/or addiction

About Us

We are a Federally Incorporated Canadian Registered Charitable Organization. Our Charity Number is 803492925RR0001.

We are governed by an active Board of Directors all of whom are Christian volunteers, who receive no compensation.  Starting with Rev Brent Bishop, Stephen Giovannetti, Dr. Stephen Hart, Pastor Albert Hood (missing from photo), Malcolm Thomas, Paul Dixon, Pamela Hoben and Larry Bailey. Life time Honorable retired members are James Lewis, Sherry McMillan and Pastor Hal Babcock.

We have a fast-growing local volunteer base of approximately 50 volunteers, who serve in a variety of ways from sitting on our board; sharing in Chapel services; visiting prisoners; counseling people at risk; helping in our Thrift Store; or supplying crosses and Bibles to the NB Correctional Centers.

We also have a huge international prayer team that lift us up in prayer to God, so He will give us the strength and wisdom to keep moving forward (more prayers are always welcome). We also have five volunteer agents in Kenya East Africa who manage hundreds of volunteers that do everything from looking after children whose mothers are in prison, serving thousands of meals to the Street children that have no homes, or delivering thousands of milk drinks to the children that are in the prisons with their mothers.

We have a calling from God built on a foundation of prayer to Glorify God by helping the men, women and children that are being affected by incarceration, both locally and internationally. Through His word, redemption and salvation are found and lost souls are transformed.

This ministry is supported by many partners whose seeding goes directly into the mission field. We also support His ministry by operating the Thrift Store called Seed the Need. All profits from the store, which employs 5 full time employees, are used in the ministry.

STATEMENT OF FAITH

Our statement of Faith begins with the Apostle’s Creed.

The Apostle’s Creed

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; He descended to hell. The third day He rose again from the dead. He ascended to heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From there He will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic (universal) Church, the Communion of Saints, the Forgiveness of sins, the Resurrection of the body, and the Life everlasting. Amen.

We Believe: All have sinned and come short of the glory of God, resulting in separation from a relationship with God. Salvation is by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and not by works or human merits; which restores us back to God.

ALL FIRED UP

Brent’s story is written in a book titled “ALL FIRED UP”. It tells of a broken child, full of hate and hurt, who was incarcerated at the age of 12. He then grew into a man full of hate and hurt, until he met Jesus and his life was transformed. Today, because of Jesus, Brent is an ordained Minister and a very successful businessman. He has presented workshops, taught Christian courses, and shared the gospel of Jesus Christ locally and internationally, in prisons, churches, meeting halls, and tents, in Canada, the United States, Jamaica, Africa, and on First Nations Reserves.

All proceeds from Brent’s book sales go to Prison Christian Ministries.

IN LOCK UP, PRAYING THROUGH A CRACK IN THE DOOR

We at Prison Christian Ministries understand what causes people to end up in prison, AND we know the answer that can set them free is Jesus Christ. God has placed a passion in us to share the Gospel, so others can find His Peace and Freedom.

OUR GOAL

Many prisoners have a distorted idea of what the gospel means, and have never heard it shared in a way they can understand. Our Goal is to share the gospel of hope, to all who will listen. We have volunteers trained to teach in a way that anyone can understand, and relate to the Good News of the gospel of Jesus Christ. A person can only change, when their spirit changes. We can’t change a man’s spirit, but, through obedience to the Gospel, we can set the stage for the Holy Spirit to empower and change these lost souls from the inside. We believe through this change, lives are transformed, and our communities and country, become a better, and safer place to live. The Volunteers help this happen by building relationships through caring and compassion, trust and friendship.
