Dear Partners and Friends,

My name is Simon Mburu, and I am 7 years old. I live at the Prisoners’ Children Rescue Centre here in Kenya. I am writing this letter to say thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Before I came here, life was hard. When my father went to prison, I felt scared, alone and unsure of what would happen to me. But everything changed when I was brought to the Rescue Centre. Here, I have found a new family, a safe place to sleep, good food to eat, and a chance to go to school – something I never thought it was possible. Last term, I improved my performance in class, and my teachers were happy. This happened because I have a teacher here at the Rescue Centre who helps me with my homework.

Because of your kindness and support, I can dream again. I go to school every day. I have friends and I feel loved and cared for. I want to become a doctor one day so that I can also help others, just like you have helped me.

Thank you for believing in children like me. Thank you for giving us hope and a chance to live a better life through PCM sponsorship. May God bless you for your big hearts and for thinking of us even though you don’t know us personally.
